About Us

What do you do?

Sononaco, Inc. is a full-service web application development and web, e-mail and data hosting company based in Charlotte, N.C. Our mission to is develop full-service web applications and provide web services that are well-planned, reliable, strategically address our clients needs, protect client data and take full advantage of the power and flexibility of evolving internet technologies.

Over fifteen years developing internet sites and applications has earned us praise among our peers and customers. It has been our pleasure to put powerful technologies into the hands of those where it would otherwise be out of reach. We provide proven solutions that deliver measurable results. Let us put the web to work for you.

"Sononaco" - What does it mean?

"Some No-Name Company."

What is this "committment to Open Source"?

We believe that what goes around comes around. And a core of developers working to perfect software that is robust, secure and freely available will one day be the standard model of software distribution.

Sononaco's commitment to open source technologies means that we use these technologies and we also contribute to their development.

We have found that web tools are often needlessly complicated and not visually pleasing. Using these tools can be especially frustrating for a novice, especially when they are not familair with the back-end or core components.

Our commitment to open source doesn't mean we have a bunch of old beige 100 mHz boxes sitting around stinking up the place. We still rely on using proprietary systems. It's a necessary evil but it's also a reality.

How do we hire you?

Call, E-Mail, IM, Visit.

We bill our time on an hourly basis, billable in 15-minute increments. Our projects and work is built around an hourly "block" system so all development work is contained with a "block" of time per project or client. For example, if we are developing a web application, one hour is dedicated to that application, calls, e-mails and IMs with the client. Think of it as "your hour" of time where work can be done on your project, we can provide consulting advice or attend a virtual meeting.

About Our Founder

"I'm just an 8-bit guy in a 64-bit world."
--Keith Hall

Keith has immersed himself in technKeith Hallology since the 80's and actively sought means to make it accessible to others.

An eight year veteran of radio broadcasting, turned his interest toward the evolving medium of electronic communications that we now know as the internet. Building on the knowledge he gained cobbling together BBS programs in the 80's, he began learning what he refers to as "the BBS evolved" which is better known as "the Internet."

Keith's work has not been limited to web development. He has produced video segments and visual aids House, Senate and White House press conferences and the National Press Club. His work has been seen on the major broadcast networks, CNN, C-SPAN and on the floors of Congress. Keith has also provided tech support and assisted with speechwriting for Rosie O'Donnell, Bianca Jagger, and Courtney Love.

In 2006 Keith and his company had the honor of developing and hosting the web site for Congressman John Hall (NY-19) who defeated the long-term incumbent candidate in his district. Additionally, Keith has developed applications for several large for-profit and non-profit organizations.

Keith and his wife Amy live in uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. In his spare time he enjoys the company of his wife and two pugs, Abbey and Sadie (AKA "The Sprocket"), supporting his Carolina Panthers and spending an unhealthy amount of time with a Commodore 128.

"Staff"
Sadie
Sadie
Director of Snoozing and Chicken Treats, Sadie tests everyone's aural acuity with her earth-shaking snoring. She is the staff supervisor, overseeing the operations of her little sister. A lady of few words, a simple "Boof!" quickly gets her point across.

Abbey
Abbey
The first female wide receiver drafted by the Carolina Panthers, Abbey lost her roster spot because the team's mascot is a cat. Abbey now works as Director of Security for Sononaco. Her limitless energy and gravity-defying vertical leap allow her to respond to any threat and give it a stern barking at.
